Khao Lak is located just 1 hour drive from Phuket International Airport on the south western part of Phang Nga Province, Thailand.
This is the closest departure point to the Similan Islands as wells as Khao Sok National Park. This is a destination not to be missed, long stretches of white sandy beaches, aqua marine seas. Here there is something for everyone, whether it’s diving, snorkelling, elephant trekking or a quiet drink in one of the many beachfront bars.

The Thai government realized that Similan Islands was something they had to pay attention to and protect from fishing as well as other exploitation. This is why they 1984 made The Similan Islands together with Koh Bon into a 128 square kilometres Marine Park. In 1998 was Koh Tachai incorporated and with new officers in charge are we hoping that control will be stricter and the park will be preserved for many generations to come.
